TMI Tuesday!!!

May17

Y’all I’m drawing a complete blank today. If you have any suggestions, lay ’em on me! If you’d like to share your own TMI stuff, please do! Only thing I really have to share is that I just bought some completely adorable tops at Target this morning and I am still giddy that I found them in my size (stock was limited and both weren’t in their proper place…fate much?). I also took it upon myself to once again fill out a comment card complaining about the women’s plus sections complete lack of signing as well as the fact that the entire section is crammed onto four racks so that if you touch one garment half of them fall on the floor. Also had to talk to management about a couple of negative ninnies working there standinga round talking shit about their co-workers. Inapropriate doesn’t even cover it, yo! Sometimes you just have to speak up and tell people they are wrong and sometimes you just have to go over their head. I know I did the right thing and I was satisfied when the manager seemed more upset about it than I was. Hey, I’ve been there, retail management sucks, but lousy employees are worse!

How are you today? What can I help you with? Lay it on me! I love you! <3

Yay for finding something at Target that fits beyond the toothpaste and shampoo! 🙂 And good for you for saying something to the management.

Today I came into the office to a note on the refrigerator telling me there was a mess because “somebody” put a diet coke in the freezer. Well there were only 3 somebodies in the office yesterday and only 2 of them were drinking and restocking the soda and one of them was me, and the other one was the one who left the note! Lets try and figure out who “somebody” was. Its so frustrating to me when people don’t take responsibility for their own actions! And just because I don’t have a Ph.D. doesn’t make me the maid!!

    That’s where I’m at today!!

Oh yeah, I don’t miss office “politics” at all! Why is it that someone is always trying to shirk their part of justr regular common courtesy? Or plain old sloppiness?! Oh well. Sorry, hun. That stinks.

I have major beef with target and their plus size clothing, other than the reasons you stated, I’m curious why the bigger stuff is always hidden in the maternity section? Is this some how suppose to make us (the fats) feel like it gives the impression we aren’t fat, just maybe pregnant?

I am glad they have started expanding the sizes they carry; With a huge HOWEVER they need to carry more choices. I walk by the other clothes and go “oooh thats so cute!” then wander back to the fat/prego area and am always disappointed.
Do they even carry cute bigger bras?
Just like any store that has a bigger size section, I guess I should be thankful.

I have never seen the plus mixed into the maternity. It is often right next to and therefore, due to lack of signing at all, almost impossible to distinguish without further inspection. I am fortunate to have my choice of about 6 Targets in my area (more no doubt if I wanted to drive further), but I haven’t seen what you describe. I see what you’re saying and I can assure you that Target isn’t implying anything by having the meternity and plus together, but it can be the last thing we wanna see while shopping. In fact some of the maternity stuff is pretty damned cute, but I have no problem buying maternity, it’s just a tag after all. Bras? I’m afraid you’re most likely out of luck in any Target, but that would depend on your size. They do carry Playtex and JMS bras, but I don’t know the range. I love Target’s plus size clothing. I did even before they launched the “Pure Energy” revamped line. At a size 28, their 4 works for me about 90% of the time. Thankful? I mean, that’s an individual thing, but I understand what you’re saying. I personally don’t think enough fats speak up about this stuff for them to even know what we want. When I suggest large writing campaigns I get the whole “Oh they won’t listen” response. So it’s up to me I guess to speak up. What can ya do? (Although I think shifting the immense amount of floor space given to the ladies section could remedy a lot of this.) Thanks so much for commenting.

I dig target don’t get wrong, I find it more humorous than anything the stores I go to have the plus size mixed with the maternity section. mostly because it freaked the boyfriend out the first time i wandered over there for clothes, he had to ask is there was something I needed to tell him. Your definitely correct about the signage or lack of!
The thankful part comes from the clothes being more cost effective than other places, and the nice range of sizes you can find at different stores, see stuff up to size 28/30 once and a while.

The Idea that you have power to write a place really has gone down hill, You would think with so many types of ways to get a hold of cooperation’s (email, snail mail, phone, comment cards, text..) more people would try an communicate their needs. Stores really do listen if they get enough of the same feedback, look at walmart and the fabric department (they got enough negative responses to taking fabric out of stores that they are bringing it back). The adage of you get more bees with sugar than with vinegar rings true. When writing: compliment first, then ask for something to change. You would be shocked how much attention you get with a letter like that. heck i write places that make food i like, some of the time the company will give you a boat load of nice stuff just for writing to them.
    BTW thanks for commenting back

You are super right about the compliment first thing. Goes back to the old “sanwich” thing, begin and end with a compliment so that the bad stuff doesn’t sting. Spoonful of sugar and all. Ha-ha!

Jeanette, are you sure we don’t work at the same place? I thought my workplace was the only one where people put canned sodas in the freezer!! They explode, make a huge mess, and then the passive aggressive notes fly around for days blaming other people. And this happens ALL THE TIME, probably several times a month. Seriously, how do people not know that you can’t put something carbonated in the freezer? Or if they didn’t know, how do they not know now since this happens in our office ALL THE DAMN TIME. And why do people set their lunch down directly on top of yours in the fridge when they can totally see that your lunch is a sandwich and they are smashing it? Why, I ask, why? Sorry, rant concluded.

Oh no, this is a very common office thing. I have no explanation as to why it happens, but it always happens! I know it got to the point at my old place that the gals who ordered the catering for our classes and such would check the freezer hourly when the place was too crowded to know exactly who was doing it. Notes?! Ha-ha! We talked about scarlet lettering! Ha-ha!
