Tank Top Tuesday!!!
August21
I am taking submissions from anyone who wants to exercise their right to Bare Arms for future Tank Top Tuesday posts! Email your pics here:notblueatall@notblueatall.com,please include the name you’d like in the post, a blog or etsy shop you wanna plug, your thoughts on bare arms or other fatty philosophies. It does not have to be in a tank top, so long as your arms are bare. Have fun with it! And thank you to all who have submitted and continue to do so. These posts make my week! They are so fun and empowering, too! So keep ‘em comin’ and keep baring those arms! <3

Since I live in Las Vegas, I certainly believe in claiming your right to “bare arms”! However, you’d be surprised how many still do not. I’m part of a local BBW social group here and there was a BIG contraversy over someone commenting on this very point. I understand that many are not comfortable with their bodies and don’t feel they can bare their arms, not even those that are considered “normal” weight and smaller.
Case in point… The top I am wearing in the picture was given to me as part of a photo shoot I was involved in. AARP Magazine ran a series of photos that showed the “Real Faces of…” 50, 60, 70, etc. I was selected to be one of the faces of 50. The shoot was a really interesting experience. I asked if they wanted me to bring clothing for the shoot but they said they would be provided for me. This is the top they chose for me when I arrived at the shoot, bare arms and all! The group at the shoot ranged all ages and I was the largest person there. What I found interesting is that the others, although much smaller than I, were very uncomfortable with being sleeveless. I was later told by the article interviewer that I was the ONLY person she had spoken with that was happy with their body and did not want to change it. That was one of the main reasons I was chosen. The shoot went very well and I had a ball!
Sometimes just baring your arms can be an act of body/self-acceptance and make a positive impression on those around you.
