Living in a ridiculously hot and humid area has caused me to reexamine society’s standards for beauty and dress as they relate to fat women…and my own personal comfort.  When it comes down to it, it’s pretty ridiculous that I’d make myself uncomfortable for the sake of the delicate sensibilities of haters and neanderthals.  Why do I, as a fat woman, deserve any less comfort and enjoyment from life than anyone?  First came the tank tops, then the short shorts, and last summer–my first bikini since high school.  That first experiment gained a life of its own.  As my collection grew, some of my friends began adopting my philosophy and aquatic attire, and then came The Fatkini Mafia, a facebook group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/149328305140639/ ) , and Fatkini Riot, a blog ( http://fatkiniriot.wordpress.com/ .)  Both got a bit quiet when my husband and I started a business last summer, but now that we’re fully in the swing of things, it’s time for both of them to get some much needed love and action!  Love yourself every day–you’re beautiful and wonderful, deserving of love and comfort, and absolutely amazing RIGHT NOW.
